The Romans Plan

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one” Romans 3:10
Righteousness in not only the key word , it is the criterion by which sin is judged.

“For all have sinned short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23

The glory of God rest in the person of Jesus Christ.  All sins disqualify us from living with God regardless of how great or small they seem.

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we, were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  “Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”  “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Romans 5:8-10.

While we were yet sinners!!  The sacrifice of Christ on the cross of Calvary, arose out of the heart of God filled with the love of God.  In addition to the blessings we enjoy because we are   justified there is the promise that we shall be saved from “wrath” through Him.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.

You are free to choose between two Masters:  Sin or Jesus Christ.  The wages of sin is eternal death and choosing Christ as our master is His gift of eternal life.

“That if thou shall confess with thou mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto  righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10.

Salvation is as close as your own lips and hearts.  If we believe in our hearts and say with our mouth that Christ is the risen Lord.  We will be saved.

“ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”   Romans 10:13

God will never fail to provide for those who believe.

“So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”  Romans 10:17

Hearing alone does not bring salvation, but faith in the message heard does.    Salvation comes when the message of the gospel is preached, believed, and then  confessed by men.  That message must come from the word of God.
